Akwasi is a young man of about 17 years old, who has an intellectual disability since he was about 1 year old, due to an unknown cause.

He comes from the village of Koforidua, near Nkoranza.

According to his parents, Akwasi initially developed “normally” in the first year of his life, but unfortunately, that changed shortly thereafter.

Nevertheless, his parents later sent him to a primary school, but that proved too much for Akwasi.

In the spring of 2025, Akwasi came to our sheltered workshop, where we hope to teach him many skills that will help him in his later life.
